The Story behind the story

I am a mother of two, and The Kingdom of Imagination is my first book. The story is inspired by my memories of bedtime stories growing up. My sister and I couldn't wait to get to dreamland every night, delighted by our parents' descriptions of the enchanted forests and magical creatures that awaited us.

As a TV host, producer, and journalist I have been writing my whole career, so I always thought I would write a book. I never dreamed I would illustrate one!

I created all of the art and graphics using a combination of AI, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and various other editing wizardry I have picked up from my 15+ years working in TV production alongside talented photographers and editors. I wrote and illustrated the book over the course of six months, during the many sleepless nights spent with my baby daughter Kensington in her first year. The book imagines what she might dream about as she grows up.

I hope that the story will spark magic and fun, ease bedtime routines, and inspire children to dream BIG!
